I do not think there is any reason for alara.

It appears from the print in 16858 that the Covt. of

India have in the past put the demand for rupees be-

fore demands for dollars, and the priority of Straits

dollars will have little or no effect on the supply

of British dollars, except during the first stage of

Straits re-coining Zritish into extean dollars, and during

Straits

that initial period we must have priority. In future

the demands for traits dollars will not be large,

and of course the demand for British dollars for the Straits will be proportionally decreased. we propose shortly to prohibit in the Straits and F.4.5. the
